CHAIR CARL MORGAN convened the meeting of the House Community
and Regional Affairs Standing Committee at 8:10 a.m.
Representatives Morgan, Wolf, Samuels, and Cissna were present
at the call to order.
SUMMARY OF INFORMATION
LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR LOREN LEMAN, State Co-Chair, State of
Alaska, Denali Commission, discussed the Denali Commission and
its work.
JEFFREY STASER, Federal Co-Chair, Denali Commission, informed
the committee of the Denali Commission's web site.
There was discussion of performance indicators, the Rural
Utilities Program, and the Alaska Village Electric Cooperative,
Incorporated (AVEC). There was discussion of research and
development and the issues surrounding funding of such. There
was also discussion with regard to university funding, health
care matters, multi-use facilities, and transportation funding.
